Sunday 4th October info

Hello everyone

Firstly, I am sorry that this email is a bit late.

Here are a few words from Pete:

Well done to everyone last week, the contact has improved a lot since the beginning few sessions as has the passing and thinking of continuity. We still need to stop bunching up and look for space as the ball will always beat the player. Well done to both Lewis and Bear, they were both excellent at listening to us and executing what we were coaching within the game.

No homework this week, other than try and tackle siblings, parents, grand-parents, pets when you are at home as and when you can!

This Weekend

There is a first team game on Saturday and then club events until the England game in the evening. Kick off for the first team game is at 2pm. It would be great if you can come ands support the team. Also, if your children go up in their kit then the coaches hope to arrange some impromptu games (probably tag, depending on the mix of ages).

On Sunday, the U9s are training at WARLINGHAM SCHOOL rugby pitches (Tithepit Shaw Lane CR6 9YB) because there is an U10-U12 festival at the club. The school’s rugby pitches are across the road from the school, next to the astro pitches. Pete is hosting the festival so Nick and Andrew will be in charge of the U9s.

If any of the U9 parents are able to pop over to the club to help with setting up or supervising the bouncy castle or gladiator inflatable, please contact Pete and he will tell you hat time he needs you.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK AT THE CLUB ON SUNDAY.

Just a few other reminders………….

Festival on the 11th
Pete has sent out festival request to see who is available to play on the 11th. The request has been sent through Pitchero so if you have not received it, it means you have not registered your email address on Pitchero. Please can you register and indicate through Pitchero if your child is available to play. This festival will be for mixed ability teams. This means that all the children can play; other festivals are away and may be based on ability. But if you do not register on Pitchero your child may miss the chance of being selected for the team.

Payment
If your child is a returning player (i.e. not a trialler) you now need to make sure you have paid for your child to be able to continue playing. You can pay online through the website/Pitchero. www.mightywarl.com. Or you can hand me your payment on Sunday. If you are having problems paying, please speak to Pete. Remember also that you get 10pc off at the bar and other perks if you take out the family membership (£125).

I have cards for Adrian Hall and Lesley Fitzgerald…please remind me if I forget to give them to you.

Mouth guards
Please ask your children not to fiddle with their mouth guards while playing or to play with them half way out of their mouths. This can be really dangerous…and if they keep taking them in and out of their mouths, unhygienic as well.

Also, the mouth guard should be well fitting. If it falls out when your child opens his or her mouth, then it is not properly fitted.

You may need to trim the back corners with scissors if your child says the mouth guard is uncomfortable.

REMEMBER…NO MOUTHGUARD….NO RUGBY!

First Aiders
We have two trained first aiders (Niall Maguire and Claire Jerome). There is a supply of ice in the club house should this be needed for bruises etc.

Supervision
Please do not leave the pitch where your son or daughter is playing unless you have asked another adult to be responsible for him or her. Please also sign your child in on the register when you arrive.

The French are coming
We still need volunteers to house about 10 the Stade Francais U9 children on Saturday October 17th for the night. You will need to collect them at about 4pm from the club, look after them that evening, bring them up to the club the next day and give them a packed meal for the bus home.

On the 18th, the A team (still to be selected…so register on Pitchero!) play against the French team and the B team will go to Rosslyn Park. Sorry but there will be no training for the remaining children on that day.

Future Fixtures
These are in the U9 section of the website www.mightywarl.com. You can indicate your child’s availability on the website.

We have a home festival on the 11th, the French game on the 18th and Mitcham visiting us on the 25th.

Big game 8 tickets
This is the final reminder as you must buy tickets by tomorrow (2nd). Only a handful of the 300 tickets available to us are now left. You can buy them at….

http://www.jumblebee.co.uk/WarlinghamRFC-biggame8.

Any questions please email Rob Foyle at rfoyle@hotmail.co.uk.

See the U9 Facebook page or previous weeks’ emails for all the details.

Car Window Stickers
Please ask me for a car window sticker if you did not get one last week. These will be used to try to keep the car park for rugby parents only on Sunday mornings (2nd sticker cost 50p each).

Trophies
Please could your children return the player of the week trophies to Jane or Carsen Hansen or to one of the coaches each week (Lucas…I think we still need your back from week 1).
