Warly's four tries not enough.

Warlingham was in sombre mood as they mourned the death of former President David Gray and at the end of a cold grey afternoon there was little more cheer other than a four try bonus point which was still not enough to secure a victory. The losing habit will not desert the Hamsey
Green club and it was only after Colfeans had galloped into a 20 point lead that they showed attacking flair. The first quarter was a closely fought encounter with the visitors backs having plenty of ball from coughed up from Warlingham possession. Their confidence with the ball eventually paid off when a cheeky sidestep earned a converted try under the posts, closely followed by a penalty.

Warlingham gained momentum but yet another spilled ball saw Colfeans counter attack and score in the corner. The conversion and a second penalty put clear water between the sides. Warlingham showed spirit
putting several passages of play together and from a lineout close to the Colfeans line No 8 Ollie Dodwell scored Warlingham's first try. Typical charges from captain Zac King and Mikal Ahola drove at the heart of the Colfeans defence but they held firm until half time.

Immediately after the break Colfeans pressed and a driving maul gave them their third converted try. King charged out of defence and made a good fifty metres, but lack of support meant another penalty against
the home side and a break away try looked on the cards. However, from the opposite wing Alex Skinner made a try-saving tackle and the bonus point to Colfeans was averted. But not for long. Another turn over ball deep in the Warlingham half gave the nippy Colfeans scrum half the short yardage to the try line.

With the game effectively lost, Warlingham finally burst on the attack and when Ahola was allegedly held up over the line the ball was shipped to the experienced lock, Neil Robson, who squirmed over the line for a try converted by full back Joe McEvoy. A similar drive from the ascending Warlingham pack gave Belgian prop Yassine Boufaied
a gap he charged through for the third converted try. Warlingham had their tails up and a fourth, bonus point try came to a deserved Zac King. But the light and the clock were against Warlingham, who, despite the four tries and the bonus point, remain third from bottom in the league.

Chairman Peter Wrightson said, "This is a difficult league and
we need to break the losing habit and compete for 80 minutes each and every game."

Next Saturday they face a tricky journey to Charlton Park who sit second in the league having only lost one game all season.
