After a disappointing sevens season last year the Wizards stormed back into form by winning the Old Cats 7s for the second time in three years.

Led by wily winger Jon Osborne, Warlingham comprehensively beat John Fisher School and The Stags in the group stages with James Agate and Tom Skinner keeping the scoreboard ticking over. In the quarter final of the main competition Wizards beat Thundercats by five tries to one and met the very well-drilled Saxons in the semi-final, which was a close run affair but Wizards got through to the final on a five to two try count with Josh Charles and Benjie Walters showing well along with the excellent Ben Wimble.

The final was a re-match of their first game - against the high flying John Fisher 1st VII, who had recently finished runners-up to Millfield
in the final of the Rosslyn Park National Sevens. John Fisher have also been invited to play at Twickenham before the final of the prestigious IRB Sevens tournament on 10th May. John Fisher had two additional reasons to turn the tables on the Wizards - one of their rugby masters, Tom Street, and rugby coach Jon Osborne, were in the Wizards squad ! The Wizards used their substitutes cleverly with Street and Osborne coming on in the second half to bring guile and experience to the Wizards to overcome the determined John Fisher players.

The final score of 36 - 19 was somewhat flattering to the Wizards but their seven-a-side experience shone through and they were justly victorious and came away with the silverware.
