London Division II South West Warlingham - 38pts -v- Farham 17pts

In their last home league game of the season Warlingham were slow starters against a Farnham side eager to lift themselves clear of relegation. Without a number of their key players Warlingham took a while to get into the groove and when Farnhams's fly half Chris Penn chipped ahead their winger ran in untouched by a Warlingham hand and Penn added the conversion. After a scrum in the Farnham 22 Warlingham prop Kieran Scutt received the ball at pace and barged through the visitors defence for an unconverted try.

When Farnham hit the post with a penalty attempt the ball was knocked on and a Warlingham player penalised. Penn converted the kick but fly half Joe McEvoy replied with a penalty of his own to keep Warlingham close. Winger Declan Williams received the ball in space and scorched into the Farnham half only for the ball to be
lost and another kick ahead gave Farnham their second try converted by Penn.

At the turn round Warlingham had the advantage of a strong wind and intelligent kicking from McEvoy pinned Farnham back into their own half. McEvoy got his second penalty before nippy scrum half Lewis Dennelly jinxed past his opposite number and fed winger Alex Skinner who scored the second try to bring Warlingham within one point of the visitors.
Warlingham's front five have improved considerably over the past few weeks and they drove back the Farnham forwards in the set piece and their lineout was as safe as the cash in a Scotsman's pocket. Warlingham constantly pressed their case and from a five metre maul substitute winger Mark Kozminski pounced on the ball over the line for try number three.

Then came the move of the afternoon. Farnham attacked, lost the ball and Declan Williams shrugged off would-be tacklers
and raced over the half way line. Farnham defenders were left gasping in his wake and he dotted down for bonus point try
number four. Farnham were on the rack and a third penalty from McEvoy sealed their fate. Warlingham were steely in their finishing and another maul close to the Farnham line saw both No 8 David Thornton and Lewis Dennelly smother the ball over the whitewash for a fifth and final score which McEvoy converted from the touchline. The win puts Warlingham up into fourth place in the league with just one game against Old Reigatians to come on April 11th. Warlingham coach Patrick Dennelly said, "Farnham were up for this game and it took us a while to get into our rhythm but once we got back into the game the lads settled down and played some decent rugby."

Other results: Warlingham 36pts -v- Old Blues 15pts; Old Reigatians (A lot) -v- Warlingham 3/4th XV (not a lot)
