6. Players, Parents and Spectators Code of Conduct


The Warlingham Rugby Football Club Committee has ratified the codes of conduct below. We would like all players, parents and spectators to read the code and to understand it. Any breach of this code that is observed or reported to the committee could lead to a child, parent or spectator being asked to leave the ground and, if a member, may result in their membership being terminated. If you have any questions or require further explanations, please contact the Director of Rugby.

PLAYERS CODE
• Play for enjoyment
• Play by the rules
• Do not under any circumstances argue with the referee
• Control your temper at all times
• Never give up
• Be a good sport
• Be fair
• Improve your skill
• Don’t be selfish
• Don’t show off
• Never bully or belittle any players on your side or the opposition
• Never do anything that would let down your club, your parent/guardian, but above all yourself.

Remember the RFU core values: Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, Sportsmanship

CODE FOR PARENTS AND SPECTATORS
• Please encourage your children to learn the rules and play within them.
• Discourage unfair play and arguing with the referee and other match officials.
• Help your children to recognise good performance, not just the final result.
• Never force your children to take part and never punish or belittle a child for losing or making a mistake.
• Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding good performances of other teams at all times.
• Always publicly accept the judgments of referees and officials.
• If a child is injured, allow the trained First Aid staff to do their duty; please don’t be tempted to move your child until the First Aid staff say it is safe to do so.
• Advise your child’s coach of any medical condition he or she should be aware of. (Please note they cannot under any circumstance administer any medication prescribed or otherwise)
• Parents of children in the Under 6, 7, 8 and 9 age groups should remain at the Club during all training sessions and matches.
