1. Child Protection Policy

At Warlingham Rugby Football Club we believe that the taking part in our sport be a positive and enjoyable part of children’s lives. We want to make sure that the children are protected and kept safe from physical, sexual and emotional harm while they are with the Club’s coaches, helpers and other volunteers.

To do this we have the following aims:
a) All coaches will attend AT LEAST Rugby Ready, Play It safe and Tag Rugby for the U8's and younger
b) All coaches, volunteers and parents will be given a copy of the Coaches Code of Conduct.
c) Coaches will follow the Code of Conduct at all times.
d) We aim that all head coaches will be qualified to UKCC Level 1 for minis and UKCC Level 2 for juniors.
e) The Club will encourage and help coaches stay up-to-date with rugby coaching and child protection issues.
f) We will keep written records of attendance, parental consent and
accidents.
g) We will provide coaches and parents with a written procedure for dealing with accusations or suspicions of child abuse.
h) As a Club, we will promote ‘fair play’ and always play within the spirit of the laws and the letter of the continuum.
i) We will identify a person whose role it is to deal with any concerns about physical, sexual or emotional abuse within the Club. For 2015/16 season this person is Jeremy Dearden - Child Welfare Officer
j) In line with instructions from the R.F.U. we will require all coaches, managers and regular helpers to sign a Disclosure and Baring Service (D.B.S.) form.

This document will be reviewed and re-issued to all members of Mini & Youth Section at the beginning of each season and will be posted on the Club website.
