Welcome to the Warlingham R.F.C. Website and I hope you find it interesting. It’s strange how things work out, my first introduction to Warlingham was that I had to duplicate 250 Summer newsletters for the Club using our firms latest Gestetner duplicator, all black ink and greasy “skins”, patiently typed by the Managing Directors super secretary Carol, who was going out with the Warlingham Captain. That was in 1956, who could guess that I would be communicating with you like this 50 years later and as President as well!
To me there is no other club to compare to Warly, some run it close, they like to think, but as an all-round family club, with our own ground and a superb clubhouse, it takes some beating. As a rugby team we have had our moments, both good and bad. As the pendulum of good fortune swings we are definitely on the up at the moment and we want to keep it that way.
Socially, and I make no apologies for attaching this photo, you can’t get better than hosting and having the greatest English captain come to open and attend the Club Dinner at the new clubhouse. Definitely a perk of the Job for me, I don’t know what Martin Johnson felt about it.

Over the past three years we have had 4 of England’s winning World Cup team attend our very successful Club Dinners and we have a well attended bar most nights of the week but especially weekends. So you can see we don’t neglect the social side of life. Elsewhere on this site you will find links to the Mini and Junior Rugby Teams, along with the Cricket and Netball sections of the Club, all important and flourishing members of our family. The Clubhouse is available for hire for Club members and the Community; we even have a Toddlers Playgroup during the week. As I said earlier we are a Family Club who has good rugby teams, or is it a good rugby team who has a very large happy family. You decide by coming along and seeing what I’m going on about. You will generally find me on the touchline or in the bar – Look forward to seeing you there.
All the best Les Warne - President
